Amendments to the Delaware Limited Liability Company Act adopted earlier this year by the Delaware General Assembly went into effect August 1, 2014.

New Hampshire has become the latest state to enact a social media access statute, the Use of Social Media and Electronic Mail, NH RSA 275:73–75. The law takes effect on September 30.

In the New York Times, Adam Liptak has a piece on the trend of Supreme Court opinions accepting and restating facts appearing in amicus briefing, some of which facts are later revealed to be erroneous or based on questionable studies: "Seeking Facts, Justices Settle for What Briefs Tell Them."  This is a phenomenon that was heavily criticized by Justice Scalia in his dissent in Sykes v. New Hampshire has become the latest state to enact a benefit corporations statute. In July 2014, Governor Maggie Hassan signed into law the New Hampshire Benefit Corporation Act, NH RSA 293-C.
